KB1002 - Access Denied

This error usually indicates that the folder that HelpConsole was installed to does not have write permissions. 

Follow the instructions below to assign write permissions for this folder. This assumes that HelpConsole was installed to the default installation folder: "c:\program files\HelpConsole 2007"

1. Use the Windows file explorer to display the folder c:\program files\HelpConsole 2007. To load the Windows Explorer, right click the 'Start' button and select 'Explore'.

2. Right click the "HelpConsole 2007" folder & select "Sharing and Security"


3. Select the 'Security' tab.
4. Select 'Users(<computername>\Users)
5. Check the 'Write' checkbox under the 'Allow' column. 


Note: 
If you are running Windows XP and do not see the 'Security' tab, do the following to show it:
- In File Explorer, select "Local Disk (C:)"
- Select Tools => Folder Options => View Tab
- Unselect the 'Use Simple File Sharing' checkbox
- Click OK
- Repeat the steps above
