The Application Failed to Initialize Properly

The following error occurs after installing HelpConsole and attempting to run it.

This error usually indicates that Microsoft IIS is not installed on the computer that HelpConsole was installed to. IIS is included with most versions of Windows (with the exception of Windows XP home edition). See System Requirements for a list of supported operating systems.

Determine if IIS is Installed
To check if IIS is installed on the computer you will be using as the web server, select 'Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components'. IIS is installed if the checkbox next to 'Internet Information Services (IIS)' is checked (as shown below). Click here for instructions to install IIS on Windows XP. The Microsoft Windows installation CD also provides instructions on how to install IIS specific to each version of Windows.
